Hallmarking

All precious metal jewellery pieces are hallmarked in accordance with UK law.

Hallmarking is the independent verification of precious metal content, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of your piece. Every item containing gold, silver, platinum, or palladium above certain weight thresholds must be hallmarked by an official UK Assay Office.

What the Hallmark Tells You

Each hallmark includes:

  • My sponsor's mark; AOL – the maker's registered mark
  • Metal fineness – the purity of the metal (e.g., 925 for sterling silver, 750 for 18ct gold)
  • London Assay Office mark – the office that tested and marked the piece
  • Date letter – optional mark indicating the year of hallmarking 'A' - 2025, 'B' - 2026

Our Commitment

Every eligible piece from All Our Light is sent to a UK Assay Office for independent testing and hallmarking, ensuring you receive jewellery of verified quality and provenance. This will be detailed in the pieces description, or can be requested through the 'Contact' page on a piece-by-piece basis.

If you have any questions about the hallmarks on your piece, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
